þorn and eð

today, I would like to talk about þe digrap̌ <th>, þis digrap̌ makes no sense.  the letters þorn and eð were original english letters.  Þorn was derived from the fuþorc rune of þe same name.  Eð originated as an insular d wiþ a stroke þrough the ascender.  Insular d was used in such a cursive style þat the stroke ended up going þrough a curved portion of þe letter.  Boð represent pretty much the same fonemes, wiþ þem being allop̌ones in old english.  Using þese letters is advantageous too in þat it lets you save space on twitter.
